What does the Treatment of Varicose Veins cost in Switzerland?
The costs of varicose vein treatment vary greatly depending on the stage of the disease, the task and the provider. A varicose vein operation in hospital costs CHF 4,500 - 8,000 or even much more if both legs are affected. This is not only overpriced, but also fundamentally the wrong approach with the unnecessary risks of anaesthesia, body opening and tissue destruction (bleeding, nerve damage, thrombosis). Outpatient operations are cheaper, but just as nonsensical and not without risk, especially since the care in an emergency is worse than in hospital. Modern interventions with laser or radio waves cost 1,600 - 3,200 CHF per leg, depending on the effort involved. Although we offer you the most modern and safest treatment for varicose veins in our vein center in Zurich, you get these services at the same price. Only special requests, such as venous adhesives or aesthetic procedures, require a surcharge, which we will discuss with you in advance.
In Switzerland, since 2016, the basic insurance usually covers the costs for laser or radiofrequency treatment. After your examination, you will receive a binding cost estimate to present to your insurance company.
Often, we also receive inquiries about how much a spider vein treatment costs. Information about the price without knowing you and without an examination is not reliable. It can be a single treatment of 10 minutes and 120 CHF for a small diagnosis or two or three sessions of up to one hour for spider vein covered legs with deep sources and costs of more than 800 CHF each. The costs depend on the number of fields to be treated, the anatomical complexity as well as the time and material required. The safest way: Show us your spider veins and varicose veins and we can provide you with binding cost information tailored to your wishes.
There are big differences in the quality of the treatment. We explain to you what is important for you.
