Since I come from a comprehensive vascular medicine background, I named my vein centers angioclinic, and not Venoklinik or something similar. I wanted to define a protected brand, so that in all angioclinic® Vein Centers the same methods, the same materials, and the same training standards can be offered.

Because several colleagues find my work very interesting, but don’t care about trademark law, there are now “angioclinic” vein centers in Russia, Brazil, India, and China that have nothing whatsoever to do with me. Funny. We have a sense of humor, don’t we?

I view venous problems differently than most of my colleagues. Not because I know best. But in my 25 years of research, I was the first to identify and prove the causes of most venous problems: Congenital venous valve defects, which can still be clearly identified decades later, and three entirely different additional causes. No two legs are alike.

Unlike the “usual” and rather monotonous therapies involving surgery, standard heat catheters, and compression stockings, I can address the underlying causes specific to each patient. I can identify many future problems before they occur, and I can prevent them: Varicose veins are 100% preventable. Many cases of thrombosis show signs years in advance and are also preventable.

Treating veins without knowing the cause is like pulling out weeds without caring about the roots. That’s why the problems often recur quickly. That shouldn’t be the case for our patients.
